The Celtic Flame held great significance for the
Celts and served a number of functions. They believed that by purifying
the air in the home it was a means of protection from malign influences
and also ensured the fertility of the community, animals and crops.

Courtney Davis was born in South Wales
in 1946 on the night of All Hallows before the great
Celtic festival of Samhain. From these beginnings it
is not surprising that he has gone on to become widely
renowned for his contemporary interpretation of the
ancient symbolism, myths and legends of the Celtic Culture
and a leading exponent of the art of Celtia.
In the 25 years he has been portraying Celtic art he
has illustrated over 35 published books and exhibited
his paintings worldwide, this exposure has encouraged
a large following of
enthusiasts of his work.
